Mental Health Coordinating Council in partnership with the Mental Health Commission of NSW is pleased to introduce a new accredited course in Mental Health Peer Navigation. This is a nationally recognised course designed to meet a growing need for peer navigators, to support consumers and peer workers with navigating a complex mental health service system.
Research, consultation and industry engagement in New South Wales and across Australia identified a strong need to develop the literacy of peer navigation in the mental health and mental health peer work sector, as well as clear skill and knowledge benchmarks that can support consistent vocational outcomes for peer navigators.
This course will provide graduates with a range of knowledge and skills to support consumer and carer peers to navigate the mental health system including individual and systemic barriers related to ongoing mental health support and recovery.
There is one enterprise unit in this course:
NAT11275001 | Navigate systems for mental health peer support and recovery |
To best support the mental health peer work sector in gaining access to this training across NSW and Australia, Mental Health Coordinating Council and the Mental Health Commission of NSW have made the training and assessment materials for the above unit, available for any Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Please note: RTOs will need to add this course to their RTO scope in order to deliver this accredited training and use the provided materials.
To download and access a copy of these materials, complete the Request Form with your RTO details.
