Resources to help our members connect with their local Member of Parliament
Mental Health Coordinating Council works to build greater knowledge and understanding of the community managed mental health sector and create allies and champions for our members.
To help develop strong relationships with key New South Wales decision makers, we have created a range of resources to help community-based mental health organisations connect with Members of the NSW Parliament in their local electorates.
Engaging your Member of Parliament
Our information sheet contains tips that have been designed to help you engage with your local Member of Parliament, including how to set up a meeting, starting the conversation and raising local issues.
Community-based mental health
This fact sheet includes useful information to help explain the community-based mental health sector, including work that has been undertaken, issues within the sector and current policy developments.
Writing to your Member of Parliament
We’ve produced a sample introduction letter to help you write to your Member of Parliament. This letter can be customised with your organisation’s details and the contact details of your local MP.
MP details have been sent by email to each MHCC Member organisation. Alternatively, find your MP through NSW Elections – Find my electorate.
An information session to help members connect with their local MPs was held on 4 April 2022.
A recording of the session is available to watch below.
Thank you for taking action to build deeper understanding and support for the community-based mental health sector.
