Introduction to Trauma Informed Practice
This introductory course is a series of four half-day online sessions designed to develop core principles of Trauma Informed Practice.

Course overview
Introduction to Trauma Informed Practice is bite-sized training accessible for all, run over four half day sessions.
What is Trauma? explores the biology, types and definitions of trauma.
Safety Making explores meanings of safety and inclusive practice.
Living with Trauma explores experiences of people living with trauma, coping strategies, and impacts of trauma, how to respond to disclosure, de-escalation strategies, relational work, and self-reflection.
Vicarious Trauma supports the development of trauma-informed knowledge for workers and their organisations, definitions and impact of vicarious trauma, self-care, supervision, mentoring and helpful resources.

This training will develop knowledge and skills to:
- Recognise trauma and its impact
- Promote safety and inclusivity
- Assist with de-escalation strategies
- Respond to disclosure
