Course overview
Introduction to Health and Community Services is an accredited, short course providing foundational knowledge and skills in the health and community services sector. The course provides an introduction to vocational education and training. It is a pathway into our Certificate IV courses.
What you will learn
During this course, you will explore how to:
- Identify the types of health and community services
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, management and other services
- Identify and work according to legal and ethical responsibilities in work roles
- Contribute to the improvement of workplaces and services
- Work respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations
- Develop skills for self-reflection and understanding
Who should enrol
The Introduction to Community Services course is for anyone who would like to gain skills and knowledge for working in and with the health and community services sector and further explore their learning and work opportunities.
Units of competence
The Introduction to Community Services course consists of three units of competency:

CHCDIV001 | Work with diverse people |
On completion of the course, participants are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment for the units they are deemed competent in.
