Building and maintaining collaborative partnerships between consumers, carers and support services.

Developed in conjunction with key Partners in Recovery (PIR) stakeholders including mental health consumers and carers, this training provides in-depth understanding of the context and practical skills and tools required to produce real outcomes in flexible ways.

Reflecting best practice, thoroughly grounded in the theory and practice of PIR and underpinned by the principles of recovery and participation this training has been specifically developed to skill the support facilitation workforce.

* IMPORTANT: Participants must currently be working in a PIR Support Facilitation role to complete this training.

Entry Requirements

This training is suitable for individuals working in the Partners in Recovery initiative.

It is expected that participants will have basic knowledge of the recovery principles and  approach, self-directed care, mental illness, symptoms, diagnoses, medication and unwanted effects, mental health legislation and standards prior to attending the training.

Face-to-face Workshops

* This course requires attendance at 2 full-day face-to-face training sessions.

Statement of Participation

A statement of participation will be granted upon satisfactory attendance of the required training sessions.

*Subject to change. Training requirements will be confirmed upon enrolment. Mental Health Connect is also available in a one day format on request.
