Chief Executive Officer

Jenna Bateman

Jenna Bateman is the CEO of the Mental Health Coordinating Council, the peak body for community organisations working for mental health in NSW. Jenna has worked in the mental health sector for 20 years, initially within public mental health services. In 2000, she moved to the community sector recognising the value of psychosocial approaches to good mental health outcomes and has been a strong advocate of social inclusion and trauma-informed recovery orientated practice. Jenna is a founding member of Community Mental Health Australia – the alliance of Australian State and Territory mental health peak bodies in Australia - and she represents the alliance on various national advisory bodies. She advocates for establishment of a robust research and development base for the community mental health sector, and for sector reform that is shaped by the lived experience of mental illness. Jenna is a Registered Mental Health Nurse and has an Arts Degree majoring in Philosophy and Politics and a Masters Degree in Community Management.
